Argumentative Essay On Abortion

Persuasive essay abortion.

In 2011, 1.06 million abortions took place in the U.S, and from 1973 through 2011, nearly 53 million legal abortions occurred in the U.S. (Jones& Jerman, 2011) On the basis of Dictionary.com (2016): “Abortions are removal of an embryo or a fetus during the first six months from uterus in order to end a pregnancy.” It is a controversial debate in the world; some people are pro-life and others are pro-choice. Regardless of what some may think, people should respect all life and abortions should be illegal because of the moral implications and also the physical and psychological trauma that can result from this harmful practice.

Abortion has been performed for a long time. It was legal in the United States from the beginning it was created/founded. “At the time the Constitution was adopted, abortions were openly advertised and commonly performed.”(History of Abortion) But in the mid-to-late 1800s some states began passing laws that made abortion illegal. The motivations for anti-abortion laws varied from state to state. But in 1973 the supreme court “recognized that the constitutional right to privacy extends to a woman’s right to make her own personal medical decisions — including the decision to have an abortion without interference from politicians.”(Planned Parenthood Roe) This was called Roe v. Wade. So abortion is federally legal in the U.S. but different states may ban it or not for their own personal reasons. This topic is very controversial because many different people have different opinions on this topic. For example the two main opinions are called pro life and pro choice. The people who support pro life believe that all life is important and that an abortion should never happen unless to save the mother. The opposite opinion of pro life is pro choice and these people believe that it 's the woman 's choice to decide whether or not they want to have an abortion.

Persuasive Essay On Abortion

Abortion has always been a controversial topic, and with debates from the recent presidential election bringing abortion back into the spotlight, it is clear that people have varying views as well as a great misunderstanding of abortion. Often, the morality of such action is widely discussed, and stones are quickly thrown. I believe that abortion should be legally and safely obtainable in all cases for women who feel it is the best path to take in their pregnancy.

Utilitarian View On Abortion

An ethical dilemma today in society is that of abortion, which one would define as a deliberate end to a pregnancy. Various arguments exist questioning if an abortion is morally justifiable. Some say the state should decide on the legality of an abortion, some politicians say the federal government should decide, and many believe it should be up to the women since it pertains to their body. In this paper, I will analyze what a utilitarian’s perspective on abortion would be.

Essay On Abortion Pro Life

They also claim that even though these cases are tragic, they do not erase the humanity of the unborn child, (We Need Abortion, 1). The statistics are also on their side, in 2004, only 1.4% of abortions were rape cases, (We Need Abortion, 1). They also claim that the guilty should be punished, the rapist, and not the innocent, the child. The child never did anything wrong. This shows that while yes, these are tragic, a majority of the abortion cases have not been rape cases, so why keep it around for these rare occurrences?

Abortion is one of the most controversial topics of all times. There are two types of abortion, Spontaneous which takes place naturally and induced which this essay will mainly present. Induced abortion is defined by the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. I believe that abortion should be legalised and accepted in all countries for different reasons such as; it 's cruel for raped women to go through with pregnancy, The mother has the right to choose for herself as it is her body not anyone else’s, a young girl is not ready for the responsibilities of womanhood and finally the health of the woman is more important.

Essay On Why Abortion Is Wrong

A second reason why abortion is wrong is because it deprives the fetus from his future. When we decide to kill a fetus then we are taking away from him a future like ours. The argument is as follows : (1) it is impermissible to kill humans, who if lived, would have a future like ours, (2) if abortion is not done, the fetus would have future as we do have, (3) so it is wrong to kill the fetus (4) therefore abortion is impermissible. A similar argument was given by Don Marquis in his article “Why Abortion is Immoral”. He stated that what makes killing wrong is neither the effect on the murder, nor the effect on the victim’s relatives or friends, but the effect is on the victim himself. The loss of life is a great lose one can suffer from. The loss of life deprives the individual from experiences, projects, activities and enjoyments that would have been part of his/her future. So killing is wrong because it deprives the individual from his future. Therefore abortion is impermissible because it will deprive the fetus from his/her future.

Pros And Cons Of Abortion Essay

Abortion is a very sensitive issue. Many people are constantly debating whether or not abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born. People who think it is bad say that the fetus is something alive, a human being who is partly formed and to do abortion is to kill it and commit murder. The people who think it is ok say that it is not murder until and unless the child is born. I think that abortion has to be seen about which stage the fetus is in. If it is in the very early stage, then it is

Pro Life Arguments Against Abortion

According to the Webster Dictionary, abortion is a medical procedure used to end a pregnancy and cause the death of a fetus. As we know the topic on abortion is a personal matter. Some women will argue if a woman is not ready to bring a child into the world, than what right do people have to tell her she can’t have an abortion. While others will argue why kill an innocent child? Why not adoption? In addition to this there are many questions about abortion that are open by an avid debate.

Cause And Effect Essay On Abortion

Abortion is in fact the ending of pregnancy before birth and refers to the destruction of the embryo or foetus prior to life by removing the fetus in the uterus. An abortion can be either occurs naturally, that is due to an accident, disease, trauma or genetic incompatibility of the mother and foetus. Or, it can occur artificially, that is the foetus is removed by medical means or in the backstreet by unqualified people known as charlatans. Such risky abortions often result in septicaemia. Abortion is a major problem affecting most couples especially when contraceptives are ineffective. Abortion is accepted in many countries such as Indian and China but illegal in others countries. There is a huge debate all around the world whether to legalize abortion or not.

Ethical Issues Of Abortion Essay

Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by eliminating a fetus or embryo from the womb before it can survive on its own. There is much debate over the moral, ethical, and legal issues of abortion. There are two sides on the issue of abortion that will be discussed. The first one is pro-life. These individuals are anti-abortion, which means they agree that an embryo or fetus is a human with a right to life. The second is pro-choice. Those who are for abortion, often hold that a woman has a right to make decisions about her own body. A lot of feminist are pro-choice while Christians usually side with being pro-life. There are hundreds of “explanations” on why women get an abortion, but there is still no justification for taking away someone’s life.

Opinion Essay On Abortion

Abortion is a very controversial topic that has taken the main stage once again in US politics. Recently, new Republican politicians have taken power and have decided to ban abortion. There are two fields of ideas on abortion. One being that it is the murder of an innocent fetus, and that it is completely unethical. The second school of thought is that abortion is a right for women, and that it is ethical. The act of banning abortion is making the rights of women regress rapidly, and many are outraged by it. Pro-Life protesters argue that it is unethical for a woman to receive an abortion as it kills the life of an innocent being, but, they do not think of the lives of the women. Without the abortion, a womans’ life can be destroyed. is being

At what point in time would you make killing a child legal? Do you think it is right to walk in the middle of the street and shoot someone in the head? It’s illegal and you would be sent straight to jail, but having an abortion and killing the baby that is living and growing inside you is “your right” even when it’s basically the same thing. You shouldn’t bring a baby into the world just to have an abortion and kill it.

Argumentative Essay: The Legalization Of Abortion

We can do whatever we want with our body, it is our property. What government can do about this is to suggest, not to suppress. However, more than 300,000 females around the world are carrying a rapist’s child, due to formidable pressure from the government’s authorities. Why should the government care about our body? We have our own decision to make, and this should not be demanded forcibly by anyone. Abortion is the only key to help victims from raping, and this must be legalised to set them free from a sense of mortification, accusation, and tribulation.

Argumentative Essay On Abortion

Abortion has been one of the most talked about topics in society just about anywhere from television, magazines, whether or not it should be the right or wrong thing to do. Abortion is a very sensitive issue to discuss, because of its nature. Many people have said that abortion is a very bad thing to do and it should not even be choice whether or not to abort a living fetus . People think that abortion is committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. However, others feel that a woman should have a voice and have the right to choose to keep the child or not and that it is not murder until the baby is born. Majority of individuals who believe that abortion is bad say that the fetus is human who is partly being formed and to have an abortion is considered to be murder. For the people who think an abortion is ok, say that it’s not considered murder unless the child is born. I believe that abortion should be seen in which the stage the fetus is in. if the fetus is in an early stage of pregnancy it is not considered murder, but if the fetus has already began to develop into a larger fetus then it is indeed considered to be murder. There are times when abortion can be accepted, if the mother is having complications due to pregnancy. For example if the mother is enduring complications in her pregnancy that can harm her, because of the child in that case it is ok to perform an abortion to help save the mother’s life. It is also very important to understand this type of situation. The mother has the right to have an abortion and it is her decision because a mother knows best about her health conditions. Did you know that there is a perfectly legal killer in America today? In fact it kills over one million people in the United States p... ... middle of paper ... ... a partner. Majority of women do not use proper contraceptive when being sexually active and then when they get pregnant they use abortion as a leeway for their own poor decision making. Women cannot just get an abortion because of their poor actions it is time for them to step up and take responsibility for their actions. Abortion in the United States is a legal form of murder. Each and every year over a million babies are murdered and it must be stopped now before it will continue to get out of hand each and every day. We have discussed in this essay that a fetus is a living humans and not something that can just be thrown away. An unborn child is still a child and he or she needs an opportunity to grow and live a long successful life just like the rest of us have gotten the privilege to do. Abortion cannot go on any longer. More and more live are lost every day.
